A Meaningful Gift to Our Vocational School from the Esteemed Author Cüneyt Kalpakoğlu: The Book “Secure Software Development”
As the Istanbul Technical University School of Cybersecurity, we are delighted and honored to accept Cüneyt Kalpakoğlu’s book *Secure Software Development*—written by one of the leading figures in the field of cybersecurity—as a donation to our library.
Written with an awareness of the importance of producing scientific resources in the national language for the advancement of science and technology in a country, this work, as the author himself states, “paves the way for the localization of scientific knowledge and its understanding within a cultural context.” This sensitivity, which Kalpakoğlu emphasized by stating, “I wholeheartedly value our Turkish language,” is an invaluable step toward ensuring that our students and academics can access the most up-to-date information in their own language.
The result of over three years of hard work, “Secure Software Development” is the first Turkish-language work in our country to practically address all security vulnerabilities listed in the OWASP Top 10 standards. In this regard, it goes beyond being merely a textbook and serves as a fundamental reference source for our young people aiming for careers in cybersecurity. Thanks to the book’s interactive portal—accessible via QR codes within the book—our students will have the opportunity to reinforce their theoretical knowledge with practical exercises.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Cüneyt Kalpakoğlu for generously providing such a comprehensive and innovative resource to our young people, who represent the future of our cybersecurity sector. This valuable donation will directly contribute to our school’s mission of enhancing the quality of education and training qualified cybersecurity experts.
